The Kia EV9 is 2024 World Car of the Year

The results are in, and the World Car Awards has finally announced the 2024 World Car of the Year and the category winners. After a strict tabulation from over 100 jurors from 29 countries, the Kia EV9 takes the crown alongside an electrified lineup of winners in each bracket.

Also awarded was the 2024 World Car Person of the Year, longtime Red Bull Racing chief technical officer Adrian Newey, who is credited for creating the championship-winning Formula 1 cars of Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. The legendary British engineer beat the likes of Stephan Durach (BMW Group connected company development senior vice president), Andreas Preuninger (Porsche GT model line director), C.V. Raman (Maruti Suzuki chief technical officer), and Lisa Reeves (Volvo Cars interior design head).

Winner: Hyundai Ioniq 5 N (823 points)

Winner: Toyota Prius (302 points)
