In this day and age, cars are essentially smart devices on wheels. That’s why it’s no surprise when manufacturers come out with mobile apps for their vehicles. The latest one to do so is BYD Cars Philippines with its BYD app.

The app works together with the DiLink infotainment system to allow for voice recognition, built-in navigation, and geo-mapping. The software also monitors key information such as battery life and vehicle location. Users can also remotely control functions such as the climate control and the door locks.

“BYD is globally known for its advanced technology that integrates both hardware and software into a seamless driving experience,” said managing director Bob Palanca. “The BYD app along with the new software update will deliver enhanced value to our customers in the ever-changing EV landscape and will further elevate their ownership experience.”

The tech doesn’t stop there as BYD vehicles will eventually be equipped with an in-car web browser. Most interesting is the Stingray Karaoke app, which will allow occupants to sing their hearts out with a microphone.

A free 10-year subscription to the BYD app comes with the purchase of a BYD vehicle. The software is available on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android users, respectively.
