Can’t decide between a full-on battery electric vehicle and a hybrid? Why not get the best of both worlds with the Lynk & Co 01?

A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the 01 pairs an electric motor with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine for a combined system output of 258hp. In normal, low-speed city driving, the electric motor has enough power to move the car without activating the gasoline engine until the battery gets depleted.

Once the battery falls to a low percentage, or when the system detects an urgent need for full power, the gasoline engine seamlessly kicks in.

Along with a seven-speed DCT and a host of advanced driving aids, the Swedish-designed and Chinese-built 01 is a five-passenger crossover that aims to deliver an enjoyable and stress-free riding experience.

It also comes with a Type 2 AC charger so you can charge it at home, and of course, you can charge it at a fast-charging station elsewhere. Driven economically, the 01’s fuel consumption can go as low as 1L/100km.

The Lynk & Co 01 will be available for test drives on October 24-26 at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit at the SMX Convention Center. It’s priced at P2,088,000, and comes with a five-year/100,000km warranty as well as free periodic maintenance service for the first two years.
