Quezon City will have a new bicycle park soon

Located at the Payatas Controlled Disposal Facility

It's hard to imagine that this is in Quezon City. PHOTO FROM JOY BELMONTE

One of the problems with cycling in Metro Manila is that there are barely green spaces where people can go on a leisurely ride, free from the traffic and the pollution of motor vehicles. Well, we have good news for you: A bike park will open soon at the Payatas Controlled Disposal Facility in Quezon City.

Would you believe this used to be the Payatas dumpsite? PHOTOS FROM JOY BELMONTE

Located near the border of Metro Manila and Calabarzon, the site was visited by Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte who went cycling for a safety inspection. We don’t have more details, but looking at the photos, this seems like it will be a nice place for a weekend ride.
