SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the official Philippine distributor of BMW, has just launched three of the newest M cars in our market. While each one of these vehicles offers a unique driving experience, all of them are clearly the best that Munich has to offer for the sporting driver.
M3 Competition. BMW’s popular performance sedan now sports the latest (and most controversial) iteration of the kidney grille. The sharp and aggressive design is courtesy of the flared fenders, additional aero bits, and a carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic roof. Under the hood is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter in-line-six that produces 510hp and 650Nm, and is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
M4 Competition. This is for those who prefer keeping the M experience to themselves or a lucky companion. Essentially a coupe version of the M3, this car gets the same goodies such as the weapons-grade powertrain and the loud styling. It’s also worth mentioning that both the M3 and the M4 can be had with optional M Carbon bucket seats if the standard plush sports chairs are not tight enough for hard cornering.
M5 Competition. If you like something that is just as insane in a more executive-friendly package, there’s this elegant beast. This car now boasts a subtle facelift with redesigned bumpers and lighting assemblies. The staggered 20-inch wheels complete the sporty look. Inside, M touches are aplenty with front bucket seats, prominent M mode buttons, and a new 12.3-inch multimedia display. Powering the sedan is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 625hp and 750hp. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system can be set up to be rear-biased, which means drifts are easier to initiate.
All three cars are now available for preorder. Below are the launch prices:
- M3 Competition – P9,590,000
- M4 Competition – P9,690,000
- M5 Competition – P13,690,000
