The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is the one event where car brands put their best foot forward in an attempt to woo crowds of Filipino motorists. MG Philippines is currently on a roll being among the top 10 best-selling brands last year. For MIAS 2026, two models took the stage for the Chinese-owned British brand.

The G50 Plus is MG’s seven-seater MPV, and it will be getting a hybrid variant. The MG G50 PHEV combines the practicality of a people mover with the efficiency of a hybrid powertrain. Under the hood is a four-cylinder 1.5-liter gasoline engine, paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission. The combined output with the electric motor is 295hp and 280Nm of torque.
The benefit of a hybrid like the G50 PHEV is that you have two energy sources available at your disposal. With pure electric power, the G50 PHEV has a range of up to 95km. But combined with the 60L fuel tank, the MPV can travel as far as 1,415km—eliminating any sense of range anxiety.
Complementing the hybrid powertrain is a spacious and premium interior with captain seats in the second row. At the front are two 12.3-inch displays, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system, which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get hands-free access to the rear cargo space with the power tailgate.

The other vehicle is the MG 5 Prestige. The compact sedan has received a facelift with updated styling inside and out. It measures 4,607mm long, 1,818mm wide, and 1,489mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,680mm and a trunk capacity of 512L.
The engine is still a 1.5-liter four-banger with 108hp and 142Nm of torque, but it is now Euro VI-compliant. The MG 5 Prestige also has LED headlights, and an updated interior with a 3.5-inch TFT display on the driver’s side, and a 10.2-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The MG G50 PHEV will be available in three colors: Pearl White, Andes Gray, and Pearl Black, with a price of P1,398,888. It is now offered for reservation with an exclusive promo: Just pay a fee of P1,000, and you’ll get a free 7kW wall charger as well as a P10,000 discount (with a further P10,000 discount for every month of waiting if ever there are any delays).
Meanwhile, the MG 5 Prestige is yours for P888,888 in either one of four colors: Diamond Red, Phantom Black, Cosmic Silver, and Dover White. You can enjoy a cash discount of P20,000, a low down payment of P70,000, and one free periodic maintenance service as part of the special introductory promo.
