Geely Motor Philippines had an electrifying time at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show when it gave a preview of the Geely EX2. This EV is a highly anticipated model being one of the bestsellers in China with monthly sales exceeding 50,00 units.

The EX2 is an electric hatchback (similar to the BYD Dolphin) with an interesting trick up its sleeve. It has a rear-wheel drive layout combined with multilink independent rear suspension. This results in better handling with a 4.95m turning radius and a moose test speed of 73.5km/h.

Powering the EV is a 39.4kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery from CATL with an 85kW, 150Nm electric motor at the rear. A full charge will go as far as 325km. And with 70kW DC fast charging, the battery can be topped up from 30% to 80% within 25 minutes.

Geely claims the EX2 has 36 flexible storage compartments and under-the-seat storage. PHOTOS FROM GEELY

Despite the subcompact size, the EX2 has no shortage of space. Geely designed the car’s 11-in-1 E-Drive powertrain, which integrates 11 components into one unit. This reduces weight by 36kg, and frees up space for a 70L front trunk. Meanwhile, the 375L rear trunk can expand to 1,320L with the rear seats folded.

The interface runs on Flyme Auto with a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster. The ADAS system allows for Level 2 Autonomous Driving with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. There’s also a 540° camera for maneuvering around tight spaces.

So far, no prices have been announced for the Geely EX2. To stay updated with the latest information, you can follow the carmaker on Facebook.
