SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the official importer and distributor of BMW in the country, has brought in the new 520i.

Instantly recognizable is the large kidney grille along with the distinct LED headlights. There are four available colors: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Oxide Gray, and Cape York Green. Accentuating the modern look is the Exterior line called Aluminum Satin Finish. This 5-Series rides on 18-inch alloys.

The 520i is propelled by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine, aided by 48V mild-hybrid technology. Total output is 208hp and 330Nm. It’s coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 520i can accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds, and can achieve a top speed of 230km/h.

Performance aside, this engine is said to be very efficient with a claimed fuel consumption of 15.6-17.5km/L.

The interior is finished with Veganza perforated and quilted upholstery, one of BMW’s alternatives to leather. Complementing the 5’s sporty character are sport seats with electric adjustment with memory function. Ambient lighting, meanwhile, can be personalized.

What’s prominent is the BMW Widescreen Display, integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch widescreen display—both powered by the iDrive Operating System 8.5. If your companions requests, “Sounds naman diyan, pare,” you can indulge them by cranking up the Harman Kardon HiFi Loudspeaker system.

This new 520i is available for a limited time only, so interested individuals should act fast. You can view it at RSA Motors Greenhills, RSA Motors Libis, Autoallee Eton Centris, and Pampanga Premier Cars. It’s priced at P3,990,000.
