Let the VinFast VF 3 electrify your urban commute

It certainly doesn’t hurt looking good while going electric

Going electric is a great way to save on your driving commute. Aside from saving on fuel costs in favor of cheaper electricity, an electric vehicle also has a lower carbon footprint than equivalent internal-combustion vehicles, with zero emissions and negligible noise pollution, too.

If you haven’t already known, VinFast is one of the fastest-growing EV brands in Southeast Asia. Founded in Vietnam by the Vingroup, one of the country’s largest conglomerates, VinFast has a lineup of stylish EVs designed to fit your needs and budget.

The entry-level VF 3 is a super cute, four-seater mini e-SUV with 191mm of flood-clearing ground clearance. Measuring 3,190mm long, 1,679mm wide, and 1,652mm tall, the VF 3 is easy to maneuver in tight parking lots and streets, while the battery is rated for 215km—enough to last you several days of city commutes. It also has a fast-charging time of just 36 minutes (from 10% to 70%), letting you quickly recharge and get back on the road.

The VF 3’s cubist design—with wheels pushed out to the corners—maximizes interior space while also making it very easy to handle. Just point and shoot, with very few blind spots to worry about. Even with its limited cabin space, you can make the most of it by folding down the rear seat back.

While its 16-inch steel rims are refreshingly retro, there’s nothing to stop an adventurous owner from upgrading to a more personalized set since there are many affordable aftermarket options for that wheel size.

It comes with modern safety features like antilock brakes, traction control, hill-start assist, and rear parking assist. A 10-inch infotainment screen with Bluetooth connectivity allows you to connect your smartphone.

But more than the impressive list of features is its wide array of color options. There are no less than nine to choose from:

  • Summer Yellow
  • Iris Berry
  • Rose Pink
  • Zenith Gray
  • Electric Blue
  • Crimson Red
  • Aquatic Azure
  • Urban Mint
  • Infinity Blanc

Priced at P745,000, it’s an incredibly affordable EV as is, but if you opt for the battery subscription with a monthly fee, then it goes down to an even lower P645,000.

Customers who opt for the battery subscription can choose from three packages:

  • P2,800/month for mileage less than 1,500km
  • P3,800/month for mileage between 1,500km and 2,500km
  • P6,300/month for mileage exceeding 2,500km

Similar to how you’d subscribe to a mobile phone postpaid plan, this keeps the acquisition and running costs low, while also giving you the option to upgrade should you ever need more usage in a given month.

With its irresistible pricing and cute-as-a-button aesthetic, the VinFast VF 3 is an ideal car for urban commuters who need a simple and economical daily driver. For first-time EV buyers, it’s a great way to get into the world of electrification without breaking the bank.
