Yamaha Motor Philippines has fired its opening salvo for 2026 with a bold message: “Live to Defy.”
The launch was held at Mall of Asia Seaside, and the campaign felt like a modern battle cry in the scooter market wars. Dealers and media gathered as Bamboo delivered a high-energy performance that matched the brand’s defiant tone. The night also introduced new celebrity brand ambassadors Ruru Madrid and Mika Salamanca, signaling Yamaha’s intent to connect strongly with a younger, everyday-riding crowd.

But the real headline was the arrival of the new Yamaha Lexi 155.
Positioned as the brand’s next workhorse, the Lexi 155 enters the market with an aggressive introductory price of P99,900—a figure that immediately turns heads in the 155cc category.

Powering the bike is a four-valve, liquid-cooled VVA engine, complemented by a stop-and-start system, full-LED lighting, a USB-ready power socket, and a spacious footboard designed for daily practicality.

With a price of under six digits, Yamaha is effectively democratizing the 155cc platform, making performance once reserved for premium scooters far more accessible.

However, this move doesn’t just pressure competitors. It also puts the spotlight on Yamaha’s own stable, particularly on the NMax and the Aerox 155. The Lexi 155 may attract entry-level buyers, but it could just as easily tempt would-be NMax or Aerox customers.

If “Live to Defy” is the mantra, Yamaha isn’t just challenging rivals. It’s challenging the market itself.
