Taguig LGU turns over 16 Fiido Titan e-bikes to police force

As sustainable patrol vehicles

In a time when sustainable mobility is more urgent than ever, the Taguig City LGU has just turned over 16 units of the Fiido Titan to the Taguig PNP. These e-bikes will be used by the Tourist Police Units as they patrol around areas with heavy foot traffic, such as business districts, palengkes, plazas, and parks.

As described by our colleague, the Fiido Titan is an electric bicycle that’s “your cheat code to dominating Metro Manila traffic.” With a powerful 750W motor and 26-inch fat tires, it combines the practicality of a bicycle, the convenience of pedal assist, and the road presence of a big bike. Compared to a scooter, it doesn’t burn gasoline (although it’s pretty much capable of keeping up with one, given the traffic in the city).

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano is delighted that her city’s police force now has an e-bike patrol. Not only do the electric bicycles help the LGU reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, but they also promote a healthy lifestyle. After all, the advantage of an e-bike is that you still get exercise whether you ride with pedal assist or not.

In addition to these 16 Fiido Titans, 14 more units are expected to complete the 30-unit allocation. Hopefully, this will inspire LGUs to see the value of light electric vehicles and invest in these as alternatives for sustainable mobility.
