The Lynk & Co 900 wants to set ablaze the premium competition

Backed by Swedish engineering, Geely Motor Philippines means business

When Lynk & Co first entered the Philippine market, it initially targeted a youthful crowd looking for a practical, stylish lineup of vehicles. But now, under the Geely Motor Philippines umbrella, the Chinese brand with Swedish ties asks: “What if we could target the premium market?”

The Lynk & Co 900 delivers in that segment with a quality, upscale SUV that feels plush, refined, and almost British. From the front, the Dynamic Day Rays daytime-running lights showcase the brand’s new signature design—also seen on the 02 hatchback and the 08 crossover—in a more authoritative look.

Drawing on its Swedish roots, the bodyshell is strengthened by W-type hot-formed crash beams made from 12,000MPa ultra-high-strength steel, and it further cocoons its passengers with 12 airbags.

To prevent a collision in the first place, the roof-mounted LIDAR and 360° camera scan the road ahead and feed data immediately to the advanced driver-assistance system.

Under the hood, its EM-P Intelligent Electric Hybrid powertrain is no slouch. The 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with dual electric motors produces a combined 708hp and 1,000Nm, and a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission propels the SUV over longer distances.

However, don’t let its stature fool you. The SPA Evo architecture lets the 900 pull, corner, and stop like a multiple championship-winning touring car, thanks to its Closed Dual-Chamber Air Suspension and front-and-rear ventilated disc brakes.

At the same time, the Intelligent Magic Carpet Suspension keeps bumps and cracks barely noticeable, like a business-class flight on land.

Continuing the luxury theme, the cabin and the seats are wrapped in Nappa leather, available in Apricot, Polar White, and Black Ocean. Second-row passengers can rotate 90° for easier entry (especially for people with physical disabilities), or 180° for more intimate conversations with those in the third row.

Of course, the 900 isn’t short on tech. Dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips and Geely’s Flyme Auto operating system deliver a theater experience for rear occupants, thanks to the front-and-rear 30-inch infotainment displays and the 31-speaker Harman Kardon Performance Flagship Auto System.

The Lynk & Co 900 could easily be compared to its European and Japanese counterparts, and it deserves to be. Its commanding presence, top-of-the-line safety suite, hybrid power, and business-class-inspired cabin and features make it a compelling choice for any VIP.
