When we reviewed the GAC GS3 Emzoom last year, we knew it would be a sales hit. It is well-specced, offers good fit and finish, and has sporty styling that complements its gutsy powertrain well.
Our colleague called it exactly what it was: The Emzoom was a home run in the making. This proved true as GAC Motor Philippines recently announced that the model had broken the 2,500-unit sales milestone in just over a year.
Just before its launch anniversary on June 30, the brand had sold 1,500 units of the GS3. Filipinos continued to flock to the brand’s dealerships, and for October 2024 alone, GAC sold an additional 215 more of the hot-selling crossover.
Another contributing factor to the nameplate’s success is the launch of the Touring trim, a souped-up version of the GS variant that looks similar to the R-Style at a more affordable price point.
This was why Danzen Gabriel, a lighting director for a national television network, bought one and became the 2,500th owner of an Emzoom in the country.
Gabriel said, “After considering various options, I was drawn to the GAC Emzoom’s sporty looks and comfortable interior. Despite being a five-seater, it feels incredibly spacious, and the ride is incredibly smooth.”
He also loved that many were impressed with his new ride. “People are always drawn to this stunning car, and my colleagues are also considering getting their own Emzoom, too.”
But it’s no surprise that Filipinos dig the Emzoom. It has a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain combo produces 174hp and 270Nm of torque sent to the front wheels.
It has a long list of standard features, too. Best of all, you can have one for as low as P1,089,900 for the base GS variant, P1,189,900 for the Touring trim, and P1,289,900 for the range-topping R-Style.
Unless something more feature-packed and compelling comes out, we’re sure the Emzoom will continue to hit sales milestones one after another as the days pass.
