When we saw the list of final candidates for the 2024 World Car of the Year, we admit that there were some models that were not familiar to us. One of them was the Suzuki Fronx, a subcompact crossover that was vying for the World Urban Car title. It is being manufactured and sold by Suzuki (and rebadged as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor) in India.
The other day, we received an invite from Suzuki Philippines for its “Suzuki Matsuri Festival” in commemoration of the company’s 50th anniversary. It will be held on June 14-15 at the SM Mall of Asia. Now, a small sentence grabbed our attention:
“The advance preview of the all-new Suzuki Fronx is making its much-anticipated appearance.”

Yep, the vehicle is coming all right. When exactly will it be launched by the distributor? “We’re targeting late third quarter,” shares Suzuki Philippines’ Jeff Lopez. He, however, still can’t confirm the final specifications.
If we were to guess which engine would be offered to our market—taking into consideration the brand’s fascination with mild-hybrid propulsion—it must be a gasoline mild-hybrid combo. Hence, our prediction is either the 1.0-liter K10C Boosterjet or the 1.5-liter K15C, both petrol mild hybrids.
Of course, we could be wrong. Care to guess?
