VinFast is growing rapidly in Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, the automotive manufacturer became popular for its affordable yet quality VF line. Its commuter-range Green brand—used by Vingroup’s subsidiary, Green GSM—is becoming a staple for commuters in the metro.

Now, the Vietnamese company is focused on developing its market with its flagship models under the Lac Hong ultra-luxury collection. What sets the Lac Hong apart from VinFast’s VF and Green cars is the opulence and the hidden meanings in its designs.

Both the interior and the exterior pay homage to Vietnam’s culture and environment. For instance, the vertical slats on the front grille of the EVs are inspired by the Vietnamese Bamboo. The “Lac Hong” calligraphy lettering uses genuine gold-plated alloys; meanwhile, the product’s emblem is wing-shaped, influenced by a bird of the same name (Lac). Even the motifs of the cars are procured from the Son bronze drum and the terraced rice fields.

The first one introduced in 2025 is the electric SUV, the Lac Hong 900 LX. The unit has an armored variant, perfect for people wanting security, style, and comfort.

Further expanding the portfolio, two units were added to the product line, the 800S and the 900S. Both are set to be up for retail in 2027. Passengers can relax inside; it has zero-gravity executive seating and an all-new fully active suspension system. Its opulence is extra highlighted by gold-plated accents, rare wood, and Nappa leather. The car is fitted with intelligent technologies and comprehensive safety systems, as well as a tri-motor powertrain with a combined output of up to 460kW.

“The Lac Hong 800S and 900S stand as further proof of VinFast’s technological mastery, product development capability, and advanced manufacturing expertise,” said VinFast deputy CEO for Global Automotives Duong Thi Thu Trang. “We believe products created by Vietnamese intellect, craftsmanship, and resilience not only inspire national pride but also convey a powerful message about Vietnam’s cultural heritage and technological stature in this new era of global advancement.”

The specific arrival date of the Lac Hong marque in the Philippines is still undisclosed, but its aesthetics, comfort, and power are truly something to look forward to.
