BTS has taken the world by storm. Chances are you might have heard their songs somewhere, even though you’re not part of the “ARMY.” Whenever we ride or drive, some of their songs probably go into your playlist. At home, I can’t escape the phenomenon. Do I have a choice (because my wife is a solid fan)?

Instead of showing me the fancy music videos, she knows how to get my attention. She flips up the phone and shows me motorcycles.

Apparently, one of the BTS members—Jung Kook—is a rider.

It got me curious. As someone who spends a lot of time with bikes, I wanted to see what he rides and what those choices say about him.

Looking at what he likes to ride, there seems to be a pattern, and later on it becomes obvious.

Harley-Davidson Fat Bob 114. This is powered by the brand’s 1,868cc Milwaukee-Eight V-twin. It has a relaxed upright riding position, wide tires, and enough torque to make effortless cruising its biggest strength.

The Fat Bob leans toward a more muscular design, and looks purposeful without trying too hard. It appears that our boy wants to show a “bad-boy aura.” The bike has massive torque, and can cruise easily with a punchy acceleration.

Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883. This has long been considered an entry point into Harley-Davidson ownership. Its air-cooled V-twin, low seat, and blacked-out finish made it one of the brand’s most recognizable models.

For many Harley owners, an Iron 883 is more than just a beginner bike. It represents classic American motorcycling, and has become a popular platform to customize.

This is the second H-D bike on the list, and the K-pop star is starting to lean toward being a cruiser head. The Iron 883 is a great commuter with a distinct lineage to its legacy.

BMW R18. BMW entered the heritage cruiser segment with the R18, powered by its massive 1,802cc Big Boxer engine. Inspired by the classic BMW R5, it combines traditional styling with modern engineering. It is a pure German icon. It combines heritage and timelessness with a unique experience of boxer-twin engine.

This is an interesting choice. Our boy is not loyal to just one manufacturer. Perhaps he simply likes cruisers with character.

BMW M1000 RR. This is BMW Motorrad’s flagship, track-focused superbike homologated for World Superbike (WSBK) racing. Representing the peak of BMW’s motorcycle engineering, the current model delivers 218hp and a top speed of 314km/h.

There were speculations when the icon posted a story about the M1000 RR, suggesting it is one of his preferred motorcycles. I have to agree that it is one of the most coveted sport bikes in the market today. I totally feel our bro, and it’s okay to drool over this bike.

Ducati Panigale V4 S. This is a track-ready, street-legal, flagship superbike heavily inheriting the MotoGP racing DNA. It is powered by a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 engine that delivers 216hp and 123.6Nm of torque.

Jung Kook took to social media when he revealed his latest bike with this caption: “Arrived.” It also didn’t take long for Ducati Korea to congratulate the artist for owning a masterpiece of Italian engineering.

VERDICT. The Korean artist’s preferences reflect someone who enjoys riding for the experience first, with a soft spot for heritage cruisers and just enough curiosity to keep a superbike alongside these.

With BTS expected to hold a concert in the Philippines soon, don’t be surprised if some fans start paying closer attention to motorcycles, too.
