Xiaomi first made waves in the automotive community when it unveiled its first car, the SU7 EV. The next product line in store is the SkyNomad range-extended electric SUV. Whereas the former was designed as a driver’s car, the latter is a living space on four wheels.
Development of the SkyNomad began in early 2023. The car is built on the Kunlun Architecture, which features a reconfigurable interior space via a flat floor and a long-track seating system. This lets the cabin switch between different modes, whether for driving, working, or lounging around. You won’t have to step out of the car when it can function as your vehicle, office, and living room.
“Our answer was to let intelligence define the space—to build a living interior that moves with you.” said Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun.
No release date has been given for the Xiaomi SkyNomad Series, except that it will launch soon in China.
