It blends sporty performance with everyday versatility

With the immense popularity of the CB650R naked, it was only a matter of time before Honda Philippines finally decided to bring in the latest version of its sport-bike sibling. The 2022 CBR650R brings 649cc of in-line-four sophistication and aural harmony at a price point mostly populated by twin cylinders. And with it come 94hp at a screaming 12,000rpm, and 63Nm of torque at 9,500rpm.

The chassis is a twin spar frame, with suspension by Showa, including a 41mm “Big Piston” USD fork, albeit nonadjustable. Braking duties are handled by dual front 310mm discs with four-piston Nissin calipers, and a single 240mm disc and single-piston caliper. An assist-and-slipper clutch helps tame the engine, and traction control called “Honda Selectable Torque Control” is standard.

The bike also features full LED lighting as well as a negative-display LCD for speed, gear position, fuel consumption, water temperature, and upshift indicator. Curb weight of 207kg is average, but the tank holds a reasonable 18.6L, which should get you some decent range even if you whack the throttle wide open…and you will.

Priced at P530,000, this model is now available at all flagship stores nationwide, and you can have it in either Grand Prix Red or Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
