Ladies, have you ever wanted to learn how to fix a bicycle, but don’t know where to start? Here’s some good news: “Taming of the Screw: Advanced Bike Mechanic Workshop for Women” will be held from November 28 to 29.
The workshop is organized by Jeza Rodriguez, a certified mechanic and bike fitter from Bike School Asia. Teaching women how to ride and fix bicycles is her way of promoting bike-commuting and closing the gender gap in cycling.
She will be joined by Steve Manzano, a former banker and graduate of United Bicycle Institute in Oregon, USA.

The coverage includes theoretical and practical lessons about different parts of the bicycle: the cockpit, the wheels, the drivetrain, and the brakes.
Since the workshop is all-women, participants can rest assured that the classroom is a safe space, free from discrimination and negative stereotypes.
The fee for the two-day workshop is P5,000 with the venue at Benilde HiFi in Manila. If you’d like to join, you can sign up through this link.
