The voting for the 2022 Women’s World Car of the Year has begun

It's all in the details for the selected vehicles

It’s interesting to see what things women tend to look for in cars. We know that they tend to be more detail-oriented, and they likely see automobiles in a different light compared to men. That’s why the list of finalists for the Women’s World Car of the Year is a very interesting mix of vehicles.

There are 55 members from 40 different countries who make up the jury of the WWCOTY. There will be two phases, with the first phase including the jurors casting their votes on all-new models launched on at least two continents last year. There will be one winner per category. Then, the second phase will decide on which vehicle takes the crown of the Women’s World Car of the Year.

There will be six categories, determined by the length of the vehicle. While grouping cars according to length generally makes sense, these categories aren’t divided further by the class (EV, people movers, luxury and so on) they’re in, so you start to see vehicles such as the V8-powered Lexus IS500 slugging it up against the Kia Carnival, a luxury minivan.
